Couscous!

Updated: Dec 7, 2018

My main staple, my go to grain, my go to wheat, something that's always in my kitchen. It’s so good and so easy to prepare. It has healing properties, it has preventative properties, it’s nutritious and taste good.

Couscous is very high in selenium, which is an essential mineral that has loads of health benefits. The selenium in couscous can help with thyroid function, by aiding in the increase of hormone production.

Do you eat loads of fats and oils?

Eat some couscous it can help in lowering your risk of heart attack as well as certain cancers. Selenium reduces inflammation and oxidative stress in your body therefore, helping to reduce the risk of buildup of plaque and bad cholesterol on the artery veins and walls. Couscous is an excellent source of selenium.

Everything good about couscous is because of it excellent source of selenium. Eat up your couscous it will boost your immune system. It is a great source of plant base protein, so my vegans, non-vegetarians, everytarian and non-tarian this is for you. My gluten intolerance (celiac disease), diabetic people, friends and family, don’t be sad, we have fonio or gluten free couscous for you. While couscous has great nutritional benefits it might not be for everyone.

My go-to couscous dishes; seasoned couscous, fried couscous, couscous as the base of my veggie balls, couscous with anything stew is the best. I’ll leave one recipe with you, if you want more just leave a message below.
